These steps describe how to post such special payments made to an authors, otherwise called an author advance.<\/p><ol><li>Go to\u00a0<strong><em>Accounts &gt; Purchase Ledger &gt; Payments<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li>Click on the magnifying glass, located to the right of the\u00a0<strong><em>Account <\/em><\/strong>field, to find the author\u2019s account.<\/li><li>Tick the option\u00a0<strong><em>Is Royalty Advance for Stock Code<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li><li>Next, click on the magnifying glass, to find and assign the Title in question.<\/li><li>Next, enter the Amount (the an invoice as follows:<\/p><ol><li>Go to\u00a0<strong><em>Accounts &gt; Purchase Ledger &gt; Invoices<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li>Click on the magnifying glass, located to the right of the\u00a0<strong>Account<\/strong>field, to find the\u00a0<strong>author\u2019s account<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Enter an appropriate narration for the invoice in the\u00a0<strong>Description\u00a0<\/strong>field<\/li><li>Next, enter the<ul><li><strong>Trans Date:\u00a0<\/strong>Transaction Date<\/li><li><strong>Details:\u00a0<\/strong>an appropriate description for the transaction line.<\/li><li><strong>Your Reference:\u00a0<\/strong>your reference for this Transaction<\/li><li><strong>Nominal Code:<\/strong>should have been filled in by the system, otherwise use the magnifying glass to search and allocate appropriate nominal code.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Next, please leave the following fields BLANK, unless you wish to specify individual title<ul><li>Stock Code<\/li><li>Qty<\/li><li>Cost Code<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Next, enter the\u00a0<strong>fee\/amount<\/strong>you wish to pay the author against \u201c<strong>Expected Total
