The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) approved by the EU Parliament on 14 April 2016, goes into effect 25 May 2018. It applies to all companies processing and holding the personal data of data subjects residing in the European Union, regardless of the company\u2019s location.<\/p>

The Focus GDPR implementation supports the principle of \u201cPrivacy by Design\u201d, that is, straight out-of-the box. Focus understands that its products and services will form part of the controls and processes that businesses will implement in order to meet some of their own GDPR obligations.<\/p>

Steps<\/h3>

On the Customer window<\/h4>
  • we now track every access or lookup of a customer record, even if you did not make or save any changes.<\/li>
  • when you save a record, we now write a detailed changes log to meet the GDPR requirement.<\/li>
  • clicking the delete button, in order to meet the \u201cData subject access requests\u201d, Focus will apply stringent rules, as explained later under the \u201cRight to erasure\u201c<\/li><\/ul>

    On the Marketing Window<\/h4>
    • all exports to email, label, Excel or printer are tracked to meet the GDPR requirement.<\/li><\/ul>

      To view\/print the GDPR Compliance Data Portability Sheet<\/h4>
      1. Go to\u00a0Accounts<\/em><\/strong>>\u00a0Sales<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Ledger<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0Customer<\/em><\/strong><\/li>
      2. Search for product in the\u00a0Product Code<\/em><\/strong>box<\/li>
      3. Click the\u00a0Print Preview<\/em><\/strong>icon or press\u00a0SHIFT+ALT+P<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to view the GDPR Compliance Data Portability Sheet<\/li>
      4. Click the\u00a0Print<\/em><\/strong>icon or press\u00a0CTRL+P<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to print the GDPR Compliance Data Portability Sheet<\/li><\/ol>

        Settings<\/h3>

        Switch On EU GDPR Compliance<\/h4>

        For the new GDPR features to take effect you have to switch-on GDPR compliance application in the Preferences window.<\/p>

        1. Go to Maintenance > Preferences > Other Preferences<\/li>
        2. Expand General > Section 3<\/li>
        3. Then tick the \u201cApply EU GDPR Compliance\u201d box<\/li>
        4. In the \u201cData Portability Sheet\u201d box select the \u201cGDPR Compliance Report.rp document layout<\/li>
